Ready for AprilMarch 15, 2012 11:28 pm
Justin Verlander struck out 8 of the 14 batters he faced today as the Tigers beat the Orioles 4-2. Believe it or not Gerald Laird actually provided the offensive spark. The win now improves Detroits record to 9-1-3 in Grapefruit League actionthis Spring. Rayburn has been a monster while Delmon Young has looked like a legit 5rh hole hitter. Bring on April 5th and the Red Sox, let the good times roll. Category: MLB Fielder a TigerJanuary 24, 2012 5:08 pm
Unbelieveable and shocking signing by Tigers today. The rumors have already started but how do you see the lineup shaping this year? Will Cabby move back to 3B? Opening Day Lineup: 1. Jackson CF 2. Boesch RF 3. Cabrera 3B 4. Fielder 1B 5. Young RF 6. Avila C 7. Peralta SS 8. Raburn DH 9. Santiago 2B Category: MLB Yuck the FankeesSeptember 29, 2011 11:21 pm
I fully expect Justin Verlander and Doug Fister to win on the road in games one and two. JV has a winning record vs. CC head to head in his career and Ivan Nova as a #2? Really? That kid will not be able to handle the pressure down 0-1 in the series and in a must win situation. Those of us that were at Comerica Park in 2006 vs. the Yankees in the ALDS. know that there is no way Scherzer doesn't get carried by momentum and the atmosphere in the D, to close out the series in a sweep. GO Tigers! Category: MLB Post Season: Miggy to play some 3B?September 22, 2011 3:14 pm
I've been reading some other comments elsewhere suggesting that Cabrera was spotted recently warming up playing at 3B again. Makes perfect sense to me: That way they can get Martinez in the game at 1B and keep that powerful combo in the game against a National league lineup down the road. You know Leyland has got to be looking at every possible way to gain an advantage. Category: MLB Magic Number Down to 6September 13, 2011 12:18 am
The Tigers won for the 10th consecutive time tonight as they clobber the White Sox 14-4. The 10 straight wins is a feat not accomplished by the club since 1968. Justin Verlander looks to extend the streak as he faces off against Gavin Floyd in game two of the series. As is stands now, the Tigers will host the Red Sox in the ALDS at the end of September. Verlander and Fister could be awfully nasty against Boston. Hopefully Scherzer or Porcello can pick up a victory in beantown to allow Leyland to set up the rotation for the ALCS most likely vs. N.Y. Yankees. Category: MLB Tags: Detroit Tigers, Postseason
